February 27, 2024

Presidential Approval

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approves the establishment of Federal Medical Centre Misau through the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare.

August 5, 2024

Appointment of Medical Director

Dr. Rufai Abdu Dachi appointed as the pioneer Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre Misau, beginning the institution's leadership journey.

October 21, 2024

Official Handover

MOU signing ceremony between Bauchi State Government and Federal Ministry of Health, officially transferring the facility to the Federal Government.

November 4, 2024

Commencement of Clinical Services

FMC Misau officially begins full clinical operations, marking the start of its journey to provide excellent healthcare services to the community.

Dr. Rufai Abdu Dachi, MBBS, MSc, FWACP, FMCPath

Dr. Rufai Abdu Dachi, a distinguished Chief Consultant Haematologist and native son of Misau, was strategically appointed as the pioneer Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre Misau on August 5th, 2024.

Since the hospital's official commencement of clinical activities on November 4th, 2024, Dr. Dachi has demonstrated exceptional leadership through launching successive development projects. His relentless pursuit of excellence has already positioned FMC Misau on a trajectory to fulfill its mission of providing accessible, patient-centered healthcare with excellence.

Under his visionary guidance, the institution is rapidly advancing toward its strategic goals of infrastructural expansion, institutional space functionality, and human resource capacity development. Dr. Dachi's commitment to team work, respect, integrity, passion, and professionalism permeates throughout the organization as he transforms what was once General Hospital Misau into a premier tertiary healthcare facility.

General Wards

11:00 AM - 1:00 PM & 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Pediatric Ward

11:00 AM - 1:00 PM & 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

One parent allowed to stay overnight

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM & 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Limited to immediate family members only

Maternity Ward

11:00 AM - 1:00 PM & 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Spouse/partners allowed extended visits

Visitor Guidelines

  • A maximum of two visitors are allowed per patient at any time.

  • Children under 12 years are not allowed in patient care areas unless specifically approved.

  • Visitors must maintain hygiene protocols, including hand washing before and after visits.

  • Visitors with symptoms of contagious illness should refrain from visiting.

  • Respect patient privacy and maintain quiet in patient care areas.

  • Food items may be brought for patients but must be approved by the nursing staff.

  • During medical procedures or doctor rounds, visitors may be asked to step out temporarily.
